Description

Potential equalization fulfills a very important function in a building, the aim is to ensure that there are no potential differences (voltage difference) in the facility. The electrical protective earth has an earth potential from the nearest earth roof, while the base plate in a building has its earth potential from the place where the building stands, between these 2 points there is usually a so-called potential difference (Volt).

To ensure this, the base plate is connected (via reinforcement or in fiber concrete) with hot-dip galvanized round or flat conductors to the building’s equipotential bonding rail. Installations are always done at the outer edge and in a grid of max. 20×20 m. Screw fastening of the conductor is done with c/c max. 2 m.

If the base plate is insulated and you want a foundation earth, you need to lay round conductors or flat conductors under the insulation according to the same grid principle as in the concrete and connect to the equipotential bonding rail. This conductor material must always be made of stainless steel.
